    purpdrank83 – if you want to grow shiitake mushrooms you need wood that is live i.e. a live tree which has been cut down. If you use already decaying wood then you won’t get the results you want.

    thanks for demonstrating. we have a lot of decaying wood matter half a mile back from the house and this seems like an excellent use for it.
